Home Gardening & Urban Agriculture Initiative

Food security challenges are not only rural — they are also urban. With rising food prices in Ghana’s cities, limited access to fresh produce, and growing nutritional deficiencies, households are increasingly vulnerable. The Home Gardening & Urban Agriculture Initiative is designed to directly address these issues by empowering urban and peri-urban communities to produce part of their own food sustainably. The initiative will equip 1 million households with garden kits and training to boost home food production, improve nutrition, and reduce urban food costs.
